DJ also writes short stories, essays, and poetry. She is working on a novella and pursuing publication of two children’s books. 
DJ grew up in Ohio and came to Morehead from Lexington in 1990. She lives in a hollow in NE Rowan County, which is an inspiration for her creative muse. 
She has a MA from the University of Kentucky with a major in Human Sexuality and is an avid wildcats football and basketball fan. Go Cats!!!

DJ Lemley-Jordan

nDonna's passion is nature, especially wildlife. It is the inspiration for much of her writing. She is a Stained Glass craftsperson. She creates her own designs,  using  lead came, copper foil and mosaic methods of construction. She teaches both beginning and advanced classes. She is also a photographer and find that nature and old structures are her favorite subjects, although she also enjoys casual portrait shoots. She dabbles in painting in oils and watercolor as well as scratch art and collage.

DJ has been shooting since she received her first camera, a Kodak Brownie Box camera, for her 10th birthday. Now she shoots primarily with a Pentax SLR ZX-7. Her choice of subjects is quite eclectic. She enjoys shooting black & white as well as color film. Her favorite season to shoot is winter. She develops her skills by experimenting with techniques she learns through the photo club programs and various photo workshops.

DJ is a stained glass designer and crafter. She has taught both beginner and advanced classes. She has taught in two studios in Lexington and her own home studio. She works in and teaches both copper foil and lead came, although she prefers the lead came method.
She retired from the Rowan County School System in 1999.  She is the mother of a son, David and daughter, Wendy.  DJ is also co-founder and Exhibition Coordinator for the regional photography club Photos In Common.
