The Morehead Art Guild’s 24th annual Art Show and Sale was held on November 9th and 10th, 2007 at the Carl Perkins Center in Morehead.  Over 100 artists with 390 pieces of Fine Art, Photography, Folk Art and Sculpture, contributed to this year’s show being one of the largest art shows in the region during 2007.

 Demonstrations were presented by artists: Sandra Gullett from Rowan Co., Ray Beam from Mt. Sterling , Ky and Joyce Steele from Cattlettsburg , Ky

 Judges for the 2006 Art Show were:  Jason Ratcliff of Elliottville , Ky. for Sculpture;  Jason is the owner of Clay Cabin Pottery.  Joe Sartor of  Morehead, KY, a  retired associate professor of Art at Morehead State University for Fine Arts;  Mr. Paul Williams of Beattyville, Ky.,  for Photography. He has worked the newspaper industry for the past 30 years as a Photographer and is currently working part time for the Lexington Herald Leader.  Mr. Grant Alden of   Morehead , Ky. , Folk Art Collector, for  Folk Art.

 Presenting the awards were Karen Glancy, President of the Morehead Art Guild, as well as Chris Barker, Chairman of the Board for MAGI.

 This year’s show had over $2,100.00 awarded to the attending artists in purchase awards contributed by local area businesses and individuals.  Trophies and cash awards of $1,100.00 were presented in Professional and Non-Professional Fine Art divisions, Professional and Non-Professional Analog Photography divisions, Digital Photography divisions, Folk Art divisions, and Sculpture divisions.
